Trip Update - National Parks of the Rocky Mountain West

We just returned from a great trip that included visits to 6 national parks and monuments in 12 days. It was wonderful to see the diverse scenery and wildlife from Wyoming to Montana to South Dakota. Photographic highlights of the trip included:
Grand Teton:
- sunrise shooting along Mormon Row with the iconic barns in the foreground and the majestic Teton range in the background
- enjoying the reflections at Schwabaecher Landing
Yellowstone:
- catching Old Faithful at sunset
- serendipitously catching a neighbor geyser erupting in the background while photographing cloud reflections at Great Fountain geyser
- marveling at the other-worldly scenes at Mammoth Hot Springs Terraces
Glacier:
- forgetting my camera at the hotel the first day we were in the park
- wandering through the wonderful Trail of the Cedars
- capturing the soft glow of Avalanche Creek
- seeing a moose at Josephine Lake
- watching the sun break through the storm clouds for sunrise at Swiftcurrent Lake
- meeting fellow photographers at the Wild Goose Island Overlook/St. Mary Lake for sunrise
Waterton:
- being surprised by the unique landscape at Red Rock Canyon
- watching momma bears with their cubs
Devils Tower:
- capturing the looming tower from the entrance road
Mount Rushmore:
- superimposing my own face next to the Presidents!

Look for new images to make their way to the website soon.

Every time I travel through the West, I'm reminded how lucky I am to live near such beautiful landscapes. My love for this area rarely diminishes - and when it does, trips like these recapture that passion.

I hope you have opportunities to rekindle your passions this Summer.

Get Out! Get Lost!
